July 9, on Visions Field at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex, the GBFC Thunder fought back from an early Hershey FC goal to tie the visitors 1-1.

An undermanned Hershey FC squad began the scoring 9 minutes into the match when Derek Long headed a corner kick past Thunder keeper, Cory Swarthout,, The score remained Hershey 1, Thunder 0 at halftime. Four minutes into the second half, Thunder striker Haris Brkovic, on a feed from Ma’Cain Spragling, drove the ball past the Hershey goalie, Owen Geedy, to tie the score at 1-1. Despite several excellent Thunder scoring opportunities, the score remained 1-1 throughout the remainder of the match.

The Thunder complete their 2016 season on the road tomorrow with a return match against the Buxmont Torch. The Thunder defeated the Torch 2-1 on Visions Field at the Greater Binghamton Sports Complex earlier this season.
